Early score
Early score, based on docs and demos. Not hands-on tested yet. How we rate
Pros
- Plan mode blocks every edit until you approve the plan; approved changes show as clean diffs
- Subagents run in parallel with their own context, with worktree support; workflows can fan a task out across many agents
- Open source (Apache 2.0); AGENTS.md, MCP servers, hooks and custom models configured in config.toml
Cons
- Launched as an early beta in May 2026, so it is younger than Claude Code or Codex
- Full use needs an xAI account plan (Free is limited) or an xAI API key
