- Want a plan before code: Kiro turns prompts into requirements, a design and tasks, then checks behavior with property-based tests.

What to check before you choose
- Where your code runs: local agents (Claude Code, Cline, OpenCode) work on your machine; Jules and Codex cloud work in cloud environments.
- How usage is metered: subscriptions (Codex, Claude Code), credits (Kiro), task limits (Jules) or pay-per-token with your own key (Cline, OpenCode).
- Model choice: Cline, OpenCode and Kiro let you pick from several providers; Claude Code uses Anthropic's Claude models and Jules uses Gemini.
